Daycare FAQ
What are the requirements for daycare?
- New Dog trial
- Spay or Neuter by 7 months old
- Required vaccinations: Rabies, Bordetella (known as Kennel Cough), and Distemper/Hepatitis/Leptospirosis/Parainfluenza/Parvovirus (DHLPP or DHPP + Lepto)
- Required preventatives: Year-round Heartworm, Year-round Flea, Annual fecal sample
- Suggested vaccinations: Canine Influenza, Coronavirus, Lyme Disease
What is the new dog trial?
We start the dog out slowly on our small side of daycare. Let them explore the area and get familiar with new smells. Once they are ready, we’ll introduce a gentle, confident dog to see how that interaction goes. As the day progresses we introduce them to different personalities and sizes to see how they respond to various types of dogs. We observe their physical cues to tell us if they are stressed, scared, calm, or confident. These observations along with other behavior signals allows us to make a pretty good guess on whether the dog will do well in this environment going forward.
How long is the new dog trial?
About 5 hours. We request that dogs be dropped of between 7am – 8am. Coming in early allows the dogs a quieter, calmer entrance. Pickup is between noon – 2pm.
How old does my puppy need to be to attend daycare?
We require 2 rounds of puppy vaccines prior to introducing them to other dogs or a facility. We do have a puppy program that runs through our Enrichment program.
What is Enrichment Daycare?
Enrichment daycare stimulates a dog mentally and physically, using all their senses and working toward a well-mannered dog.
Do you offer Enrichment Daycare?
Yes, as new research emerges about dog behavior, we adopt changes that are best for the dogs. Like humans, it’s best if we engage both physically and mentally with a dog, to see their best and lead to happier, healthier family pets. They won’t come home too exhausted to move, but they will be mentally tired which reduces stress and boredom.
How do the packages work?
Packages are pre-paid credits for daycare. These are purchased at a discounted rate for our repeat customers. Packages come in groupings as small as 5 credits. You choose if you want Morning Only credits or Full Day credits. Each credit is for one day of daycare for 1 dog. Package credits are deducted when the dog attends daycare. Packages expire 6 months from date of purchase.
Can I just show up? Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are required for both daycare and boarding.
Will my dog like daycare?
It depends on your dog’s personality. We cater to a wide variety of styles, but daycare isn’t for every dog. At the new dog trial, that’s what we try to figure out.
Do dogs share the same water bowl?
There are two or more communal water bowls made of stainless steel throughout our daycare. They are emptied and refilled several times throughout the day and night; the bowls are scrubbed with soap and water, or bleached, three times a day.

How much does grooming cost?
Grooming costs depend on a lot of factors. We can help you narrow down a price range over the phone based on the breed(s) of your dog. To come up with some approximations, here’s a simplified version:
Does your dog’s hair need to be cut? If yes, is the dog matted? A small dog (e.g. Bichon) with a healthy coat will be $60-$70. A large dog (e.g. Standard Poodle) with a healthy coat will be $80-$90. If matted, there will be an up-charge depending on the size of the dog to account for the additional time needed. Giant breeds can run as high as $140.
Does your dog shed twice a year? A Siberian Husky bath and blow-out will be around $80.
Need both a blowout and a trim? A Golden Retriever bath and trim will be between $70-$100.
Is your dog naked? A small dog with short fur (e.g. Boston Terrier) will be $45-$50. A medium dog with short fur (e.g. Boxer) will be $55-$60. A large dog with short fur (e.g. Great Dane) will be $65-$70.
Do you groom cats?
Not at this time, we focus only on canines.
